Something I’ve noticed since starting my bird walks is that where there are lots of Noisy Miners, it can be difficult to hear or see other birds. This was unfortunately the case this week when Sam and I visited Karawatha Forest early one morning before work. The forest was very quiet, except for the Noisy Miners, which seemed to be everywhere.
We did find some cranky-looking Tawny Frogmouths, so that was the highlight of the morning.
They really do look like branches. They’re so cute.
I also liked this shot of two Noisy Friarbirds in the morning sun (I love their fluffy collars).
But that was really all for this morning.
Karawatha Forest … a bit of an up-and-down birdwatching location!
