After-work bird walk: Karawatha Forest (Stretton Recreation Reserve), 20 January 2025

Well, the first time I went birding at this section of Karawatha Forest, I was not so impressed. This time, even though it was the afternoon, I had a much better time.

It was a Monday afternoon, post-dentist, post-work, and I was feeling like I needed to stretch my legs and quiet my mind.

The bird walk started off strong with this gorgeous Eastern Yellow Robin, who not only stayed put long enough for me to take some nice photos, but also turned around to show me his bright yellow belly:

And then I was stoked to see another White-Throated Treecreeper! I saw some of these last time I was at Karawatha Forest, but I wasn’t quick enough to get any good photos. This time I managed to get some slightly better ones. A bit blurry but I’m happy that you can see its cute orange cheeks.

Not too many photos, altogether, but a lovely, mind-clearing walk.
